I have a feeling that means that if you are required to engage a rifle target and fail to neutralize it, you will have to transition to pistol and engage pistol targets and neutralize them. Like the adjustable box stage at Stimpy's match last year - fire two shots at each of the long range rifle targets with weak side shoulder. Any missed targets required you to shoot and hit pistols targets. so technically, those shots don't add to the round count.
TAC is smart. Listen to TAC.

Dead Zero Shooting Park is donating their entire facility to us for no charge so we can maximize our donation to SFA. So be sure to sling some money their way while you're waiting for your run (or after you finish your run)!

Rent a 50 BMG and shoot it at 1,000 yds, rent some range time on their LR rifle course to verify your zero and dope, shoot a round of Sporting Clays, 5-stand, or skeet, buy some merch from their Pro Shop, or even just drinks and snacks. At the very least - THANK THEM for making this all possible!

If you think there's any chance you might pull an item cool enough to need an FFL transfer off the prize table (there are several!), you might want to plan on staying an extra day. Dead Zero will handle the transfer, but they typically are gone for the day by the time we finish the Awards Ceremony. They can also coordinate shipping to your FFL - but you cover the shipping cost. And unfortunately, shipping anything that could be considered a "pistol" (like an AR-15 lower) is stupid expensive. Keep that in mind when you walk the prize table.

Check out their website at: https://deadzeroshooting.com/ to look through all the options and plan your visit.

Gotta go with K on this one. Dead Zero has some cool stuff in their shop. Last year I got a Pro Shot cleaning kit that actually fit inside a range and pistol bag. This thing is for rifles, shotguns, and pistols. The price was in line with other cleaning items in other stores. Quality product.

We've had several people at past matches ask for more Legion SWAG, so we're going for it this year.

$5 to SFA will get you a morale patch
$20 to SFA will get you a custom engraved whiskey glass
$20 to SFA will get you a t-shirt

And of course you can buy all three, or multiple of each if you want!

Add to that the beer donations and PVS-14 raffle already mentioned, and you really want to bring lots of cash with you to the match! Remember there is no ATM anywhere nearby, so bring it with you or miss out.

Here's a proof of the patch and whiskey glass engraving:

'm thrilled to announce Alan's Arsenal LLC is returning for the fifth year in a row as a Title Sponsor, and is bringing over $5,000.00 in gear for the prize table.

And they're having a Labor Day sale on their website Sept. 2 - 7th. What better way to thank them for supporting the match than by buying something on sale??? Be sure to tell them why you're there when you do -

Check it out at: https://alansarsenal.3dcartstores.com/

Hey, can scrubs win stuff of the prize table too or do you have to be good? Just weighing my chances...all the matches I've shot and worked I've only won a few low dollar things and a hundred bucks once...

IIRC, the top winners in each class get a prize and trophy, then everything else is like a raffle. Your name called, go up and pick your prize. That way those of us that don't have a chance of competing with kids that can legitimately call us grandpa can still pick up a decent prize every now and again. Of course, it could be different this year since it is a "special 20th anniversary memorial" match.

Historically Legion prizes have been awarded in order of finish (merit is important to these guys!) but there have been enough prizes in the past that almost everyone gets something.

I THINK that's what we'll do again this year, but I've learned that SF loves to change their mind at the last minute which is why I said "prizes will be awarded as SF sees fit." Really, I'd be fine if they decided to divide up all the prizes amongst the active duty guys as this match is really for THEM. But I don't see them doing that in 1,000 years. One guy last year finished well and couldn't believe he could pull a rifle off the table. He was literally incredulous and kept wanting to put it back.

Did I mention we just passed $45,000 in donations? Humbling...

Awesome match, competitors and match director. If you guys want to shoot at a first class range, visit Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer Tennessee. Rifle range out to a thousand yards with electronic scoring so no walking back and forth. All sorts of pistol and short range bays along with sporting clays. Pro shop well stocked and the staff are top of the line shooters and competitors, so they know their stuff.

Found out why Zeus kept barking at night. Freak flock of turkeys staying in the woods behind the patio. Must have been a dozen of them cross in front of me when I left Mondays morning.
