I just picked up a Kimber Ultra Carry II in 45. My employer have us a mid-year bonus to spend on "wellness". So for my mental wellness I bought something I have wanted a long time. Haven't shot it yet, the short grip is going to take some getting used to but getting there with some dry-fire practice.

I have it's twin and it is actually one of my most accurate 1911s, but I think that is because the sights work well with my old eyes.

Plain black blade sights have gotten tougher and tougher through the years.

Got in a mainspring assortment, gonna try 24 lb spring. Also had chattering wear by disco notch in slide so i smoothed it out and smoothed out egw hammer. Shoot again soon, so far ok. Can be cantankerous on feeding so i'll probably back off on extractor tension and slick up extractor a bit with 600 grit.
