M1A NM Early....

Looking at a 5xxx serial NM rifle. Information I am getting it's 1976. Not a whole lot out there on these early NM Rifles. Stock is bedded and unmarked. Selector hole is filled in. I'm trying to value it.

Not sure these days but most anything preban is up there especially an old NM M1a. I wish I would have kept mine as it also had an old green ARTII on it.

$2k-ish IMO. If it was a Devine or Radium gun it would be considerably more.

I'm hoping to get a letter on it from SA. All GI parts. The new ones are more than 2k.

What's an all-USGI kit worth? What's that kit built onto an early S.A. receiver worth? More than $2k I think.

I have near zero interest in new manufacture M1A. I suspect mostly imported parts, hence no more bayo lugs.

This might sound like a insane question but did the op check the receiver to see if it was a chopped and rewelded.

I don’t follow M1As as closely as I do other pre-bans but seems to me that the only ones that put up wild numbers are the Devine and Radium guns.

That third GB listing just sold for $1,720. The first one now has a bid for $1,500 on it.
